Weight-loss (bariatric) surgery is the surgical procedure of the stomach and/or intestines to promote weight loss for individuals who are significantly overweight, considered morbidly obese.

What happens during surgery?
There are different types of bariatrics surgeries. The Roux-en-Y is the most common, followed by the Lap-Band. You can read about the different techniques below and find out where the particular type of surgery is performed.
